The Grade VII Quality and Patient Safety Advisor HSE role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality, safe healthcare services across Cavan and Monaghan. Job Overview

As a Grade VII Quality and Patient Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety. Reporting within the Quality Safety Service team, you will support governance processes, risk management, clinical audit, and quality assurance initiatives across services in the Cavan Monaghan area.

This position forms part of HSE Dublin and North East, covering North Dublin, Meath, Louth, Cavan, and Monaghan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of quality and patient safety frameworks across services.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of governance and risk management systems.
  • Coordinate and support clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with national standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on quality and patient safety processes.
  • Analyse incident trends and contribute to learning and improvement strategies.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and relevant committees.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant third-level qualification in healthcare management, quality, patient safety, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in quality improvement, governance, risk management, or patient safety within healthcare.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Knowledge of HSE policies, national standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
