The Health Service Executive (HSE) is recruiting a Grade VII Senior Executive Officer to join the Finance Department at St Mary’s Headquarters, Castlebar, Co Mayo. This is a permanent, whole-time post offering the opportunity to play a key financial leadership role within HSE West and North West. The successful candidate will support strategic decision-making, manage financial reporting, and ensure compliance within a complex public sector organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage monthly accruals, prepayments, and cost transfers, ensuring accurate backup documentation is submitted within strict deadlines.
• Deliver detailed financial analysis and reporting to senior management, providing insights on performance and variance.
• Oversee the integrity and use of ERP financial management systems relevant to the HSE environment.
• Maintain and enhance internal financial control systems to ensure compliance, segregation of duties, and efficient reporting.
• Lead and support staff in the Finance Department, promoting continuous improvement and accountability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting within a large or complex organisation.
• Strong understanding of internal financial controls and public sector finance procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of ERP or equivalent financial systems.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data interpretation.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
• Relevant degree or professional accounting qualification (or equivalent experience).
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
This is a Permanent Wholetime position.
Salary is in accordance with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales (1 August 2025) for Grade VII (code 0582), which currently range approximately from €59,917 to €75,805 per annum, including recent public sector adjustments.
