A permanent whole-time opportunity is available for a Health Care Assistant Band 1 within Mental Health Services at St. Stephen’s Hospital. This role supports multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality, person-centred mental health care in a supportive clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist nursing staff in the delivery of patient care
• Support service users with daily living activities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment
• Observe and report changes in patients’ conditions
• Promote dignity, respect, and recovery-focused care
• Adhere to HSE policies, procedures, and infection control standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
• QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support (or equivalent)
• Experience in a healthcare or mental health setting (desirable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to patient-centred and recovery-oriented care
