Orchard Care Group is currently recruiting for Health Care Assistant Jobs in Sligo to support children, young people, and adults across residential services. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated and innovative team committed to building brighter futures for the people they support.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will play a central role in daily care, engagement activities, and supporting individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in line with HIQA regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily activities and care as outlined in individual integrated Care Plans
- Support children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in a residential setting
- Promote independence, dignity, and respect for each individual
- Act as an advocate for service users and their families
- Encourage and facilitate social interaction in individual and group settings
- Provide personal care where required
- Maintain accurate records and participate in team communication processes
- Ensure safe use and handling of equipment
- Uphold confidentiality and organisational policies at all times
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year experience supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities
- Knowledge of supporting individuals with complex needs
- Full manual driving licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland (mandatory)
- Eligible to live and work in Ireland without restriction
- Flexible and willing to work shifts including sleep-ins and waking nights
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary: €39,290 – €44,293 per annum
- Rolling roster shift pattern including nights, sleep-ins, and weekends as required

Location & Employer Information
This role is based in Sligo, County Sligo. Orchard Care Group is a wholly Irish-owned organisation providing specialist fostering, disability, and mainstream residential services across Ireland. The group brings together leading social care brands including Orchard Residential, Orchard Community Care, and Orchard Fostering.
Residential services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, requiring flexibility and dedication from team members.
