Job Overview
As a Health Care Assistant with Orchard Care Group, you will support the daily care, wellbeing, and development of young people living in residential services. The role involves assisting with personal care, social activities, household routines, documentation, and participation in team-based care planning.
This position operates on a rolling shift roster including sleep-ins, waking night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays as required to meet the needs of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the daily care and wellbeing needs of children and young people within residential services.
- Assist with activities, routines, and individual care plans as directed by management.
- Promote dignity, independence, and positive social interaction for the people supported.
- Act as an advocate for young people by ensuring access to appropriate support and information.
- Participate in team meetings, staff communications, and care planning processes.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation is inspection-ready at all times.
- Carry out household duties and administrative tasks as part of the residential care environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with organisational policies and Tusla regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience supporting children and young people in a similar environment.
- Full manual driving licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland.
- Eligible to live and work in Ireland without restrictions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- Team-oriented approach with a commitment to person-centred care.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary: €39,290 – €44,293 per year
