Job Overview
The Health Care Assistant Staff Bank at Tipperary University Hospital offers flexible working opportunities within the HSE Dublin and South East region. This role supports nursing and multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care across acute healthcare settings.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified Health Care Assistants seeking flexible hours under an “If and When” contract arrangement through Staff Bank.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care needs including washing, dressing and mobility support
- Support nursing staff in the delivery of safe, effective patient care
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to appropriate clinical staff
- Maintain a clean, safe and comfortable care environment
- Assist with patient transfers and use of mobility aids
- Ensure accurate documentation in line with HSE policies and procedures
- Adhere to infection prevention and control standards
- Promote dignity, respect and person-centred care at all times
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare Support or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work across shifts as required
- Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care
