We are currently recruiting compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join our dedicated teams in Ballybofey, Cardonagh, Donegal town, and Letterkenny. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
About the Role
As a Healthcare Assistant with Bluebird Care, you’ll provide essential personal care and daily living support to clients in their homes across Donegal. You’ll work as part of a professional team committed to maintaining the dignity, independence, and wellbeing of those we serve, while building meaningful relationships with clients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and daily activity support including hygiene, meal preparation, and medication assistance
- Monitor and report changes in client wellbeing to ensure appropriate care adjustments
- Promote a safe, respectful environment that maintains client dignity and independence
- Support clients with mobility, transfers, and daily living activities
- Build positive relationships with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records and follow all care plans and protocols
- Adhere to infection control and health and safety standards
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- QQI Level 5 qualification in Care of the Older Person and Care Skills
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in a care setting with a commitment to completing QQI modules
- Full, clean driving licence
- Access to own transport
- Passion for delivering high standards of care and making a real difference
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in home care or community settings
- Additional care-related training or certifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
