Job Overview
Mayo University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Locum Consultant Radiologist for a fixed-term wholetime position commencing in May 2026 for an initial 6-month period. This is a senior-level opportunity to contribute to a busy and progressive radiology department, delivering high-quality diagnostic and interventional services. The role offers the chance to work within a leading acute hospital in the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level radiology services across a broad range of diagnostic imaging modalities
- Deliver and support interventional radiology procedures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to support patient care pathways
- Supervise and support junior medical staff and radiology trainees
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to service planning and development within the Radiology Directorate
- Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration on the Specialist Division of Radiology with the Medical Council of Ireland
- Significant experience in Interventional Radiology (essential)
- Proven ability to work at Consultant level in a hospital setting
- Strong clinical decision-making and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development and clinical excellence
