Job Overview
The Member Service Representative role with North West Credit Union offers an excellent opportunity to work in a member-focused financial environment in Sligo. This position combines frontline customer interaction with essential back-office operations, supporting members with transactions, loans, and financial services. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high standard of service while promoting financial wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately handle cash transactions, reconcile balances, and resolve discrepancies
- Assist members with queries and provide information on products and services
- Set up new member accounts and online access, ensuring all documentation is complete
- Process EFTs, standing orders, and foreign exchange transactions
- Support loan applications and manage member lending queries
- Handle member complaints professionally and aim for first-contact resolution
- Ensure compliance with AML regulations, GDPR, and internal policies
- Maintain accurate records and support administrative functions
- Promote credit union products and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Carry out daily operational procedures and contribute to service improvements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in financial services, cashiering, or a call centre environment desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- QFA qualification desirable or willingness to work towards it
- Understanding of regulatory requirements including Central Bank Fitness & Probity standards
- High level of attention to detail and organisational ability
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
