About the Role
We are recruiting for a Multi Task Attendant position at Carndonagh Community Hospital, providing vital support services across multiple areas of patient and client care. This role reports to the Director of Nursing and plays a crucial part in maintaining high standards of care and service delivery within our healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care assistance and support across various hospital departments as required
- Assist with meal service, food preparation, and maintaining dining areas to ensure patient nutrition needs are met
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in patient areas, corridors, and communal spaces
- Support patient mobility and transfers under supervision, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Assist with basic administrative tasks and maintain accurate records as directed
- Provide general support to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals during busy periods
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow established procedures for patient safety
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in healthcare, hospitality, or customer service environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, moving equipment, and extended periods of standing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare or institutional settings
- Basic first aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Understanding of infection control procedures and health and safety protocols
- Flexibility to work across different shifts and departments as operational needs require
