We are currently seeking a dedicated Multi-Task Attendant to join our team at St. Josephs Community Hospital in Donegal. About the Role
As a Multi-Task Attendant, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care and hospital operations at St. Josephs Community Hospital. You will work as part of our healthcare team to ensure the smooth running of various support services that directly contribute to patient comfort and safety. This position reports to the nursing management team and offers flexible contract options to suit different career needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with patient care activities including mobility support and basic comfort measures
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout patient care areas and communal spaces
- Transport patients safely within the hospital using wheelchairs and trolleys as required
- Deliver meals, medical supplies, and equipment to various departments throughout the facility
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of patient rooms and treatment areas
- Support administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records
- Respond promptly to requests from nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational qualification
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Physical fitness to perform duties including lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and public holidays
- Compassionate approach to patient care with respect for dignity and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in healthcare, hospitality, or customer service environment
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with hospital systems
- First Aid or healthcare support certification
- Experience working with vulnerable populations including elderly patients
