About the Role
As a Multi Task Attendant at Killybegs Community Hospital, you’ll provide vital support services across multiple areas of the facility, ensuring high standards of patient care and operational excellence. You’ll work as part of a dedicated team committed to delivering compassionate healthcare services to the local community, reporting to the Director of Nursing and contributing to the overall patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and support services across various departments within the community hospital
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and personal care activities while maintaining dignity and respect
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in patient areas, communal spaces, and work environments
- Support nursing staff with routine care activities and administrative tasks as required
- Ensure safe handling and transportation of medical equipment, supplies, and patient belongings
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Participate in emergency procedures and maintain awareness of health and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational qualification
- Previous experience in healthcare, patient care, or similar support role preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work with diverse populations
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks safely
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare or community care settings
- Manual handling certification or willingness to complete training
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures in healthcare environments
- Additional relevant certifications in patient care or healthcare support
