The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a dedicated Multi Task Attendant to join St Columcille’s Hospital in Loughlinstown, County Wicklow. This permanent, wholetime position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to quality patient care in a supportive hospital environment.
About the Role
As a Multi Task Attendant at St Columcille’s Hospital, you will play a vital support role in maintaining hospital operations and ensuring a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position involves varied responsibilities across different areas of the hospital, requiring flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout assigned hospital areas including patient wards, corridors, and public spaces
- Perform portering duties including transportation of patients, medical equipment, and supplies throughout the hospital
- Support catering services by delivering meals to patients and collecting used meal service items
- Assist with waste management and disposal in accordance with health and safety protocols
- Respond promptly to requests from nursing and medical staff for patient care support
- Maintain equipment and supplies in good working order and report any maintenance issues
- Ensure compliance with infection control procedures and hospital policies at all times
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational qualification
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, pushing, and moving equipment
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with patients, visitors, and staff
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Commitment to maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality
- Understanding of health and safety principles in a healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital support role
- Manual handling training certification
- Knowledge of infection control procedures
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
