The Health Service Executive (HSE) West and North West is seeking a skilled Painter (Grade 5118) to join the Maintenance Department, Mental Health Services in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway. This is a permanent whole-time role offering competitive public sector pay and benefits.
About the Role
As a Painter within the HSE Community Healthcare West & North West, you will play a key role in maintaining high-quality environments across mental health facilities in Galway, Roscommon, and Mayo. The role involves both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring safe and professional standards across healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out painting, finishing, and surface preparation across HSE healthcare facilities.
- Maintain and repair painted surfaces to meet infection prevention and safety standards.
- Work as part of the Maintenance Department supporting mental health services.
- Operate safely and in compliance with HSE health and safety protocols.
- Travel between sites as required to complete assigned projects.
- Collaborate with maintenance foremen, engineers, and support staff.
- Keep accurate records of works, tools, and materials used.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised trade qualification as a Painter (Grade 5118).
- Hold a valid Category B Irish driving licence.
- Access to own vehicle.
Preferred
- Previous experience working in healthcare or public sector environments.
- Knowledge of mental health service facilities requirements.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
