The Health Service Executive is recruiting a Principal Social Worker for the Louth Meath area. Key Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee the delivery of social work services across the Louth Meath area.
• Provide professional governance, supervision, and support to senior and frontline social workers.
• Drive service improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to legislation, policy, and best-practice standards.
• Manage complex caseload escalations and support inter-agency collaboration.
• Contribute to regional planning, reporting, and performance management processes.
• Engage with families, service users, and community partners to promote positive health and social care outcomes.
• Ensure efficient resource utilisation and maintain compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• A recognised professional qualification in Social Work.
• CORU registration as a Social Worker.
• Depth and breadth of post-qualification experience relevant to a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in managing teams and delivering high-quality social work services.
• Strong knowledge of child protection, adult safeguarding, and community-based services.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
• Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary (Principal Social Worker – Grade 350Y):
€80,299 – €82,625 – €86,255 – €89,884 – €93,512 – €98,506 (1 August 2025 scale)
