Atlantic Technological University is seeking a Project Officer to coordinate its role in the Green Accelerator Skills Programme (GRASP). This important initiative addresses green skills shortages within the cross-border construction sector and supports environmental targets through enhanced training and programme development.

The Project Officer will work closely with academic departments, support services, external partners and the GRASP management team to ensure effective delivery, financial oversight and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate ATU’s GRASP project activities in collaboration with academic and support staff
  • Liaise with GRASP partners, management and external stakeholders
  • Manage financial budgets, schedules and programme development plans
  • Act as the primary point of contact for GRASP within and external to ATU
  • Oversee travel, subsistence, equipment, overheads and consumables budgets
  • Raise and manage purchase orders on Agresso
  • Assist with reporting to HR, Finance and external audit bodies
  • Support learner recruitment and promotional activities
  • Contribute to administrative duties as required

Required Skills & Qualifications

Essential

• Requisite knowledge, skills and competencies to carry out the role to a high standard
• Minimum of Grade O6 (formerly D3) in five Leaving Certificate subjects or equivalent qualification within the QQI framework, or relevant experience demonstrating equivalent expertise
• Ability to fulfil the role competently and effectively

Desirable

• Excellent administration, organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a complex and busy environment
• Knowledge of the construction sector, labour markets, training and programme development
• Proven experience managing multi-stakeholder projects
• Working knowledge of quality assurance procedures, ideally in academic programme development
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Full clean driver’s licence

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary Scale: €57,897 – €70,733 per annum

Candidates external to the sector may be appointed up to the 3rd point (€60,959) of the scale in accordance with University policy.
