The Quality and Patient Safety Advisor Grade VII role offers an excellent opportunity to lead and support quality improvement, governance, and risk management initiatives within HSE Mid West. This position plays a key role in strengthening patient safety systems and driving continuous service improvement across Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary.

This is an internal competition open only to employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies (WRC Agreement 161867).

Job Overview

The Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) Advisor will work collaboratively with clinical and management teams to enhance patient safety, quality governance, and service improvement initiatives. Reporting within the Quality, Safety & Service Improvement function, the postholder will contribute to strategic and operational quality objectives across HSE Mid West services.

Key Responsibilities

• Support implementation of quality and patient safety frameworks across services
• Lead and support risk management processes and governance reviews
• Deliver quality improvement initiatives aligned to national and regional strategies
• Facilitate training programmes related to quality and risk management
• Engage and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders
• Contribute to service improvement planning and performance monitoring
• Provide expert advice on patient safety standards and compliance

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Significant experience in health services involving quality and risk management
• Demonstrated experience leading change in a complex organisation
• Proven ability to design and deliver training programmes
• Experience managing and collaborating with multiple stakeholders
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
• Relevant third-level qualification (as required for Grade VII roles)

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary will be aligned with the HSE Grade VII (0582) consolidated salary scale in accordance with public sector pay policy (effective 1 August 2025)
