Galway University Hospitals are seeking an experienced Quality and Patient Safety Perioperative Coordinator (Grade VII) to support and lead quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety initiatives across perioperative services. This senior role plays a critical part in strengthening governance, compliance, and continuous improvement within a complex acute hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within perioperative services
• Support incident, risk, and complaint management processes in line with legal and regulatory frameworks
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, and assurance processes
• Drive and support change management initiatives across multidisciplinary teams
• Deliver and coordinate training and education programmes relevant to quality and patient safety
• Work collaboratively with clinical, managerial, and corporate stakeholders
• Provide supervisory and managerial oversight as required for the role
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Proven track record in quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety initiatives
• Demonstrated experience in incident and complaint management processes
• Experience working within legal, regulatory, and governance frameworks in healthcare
• Evidence of leading change in a complex health-related organisation
• Experience delivering training and education programmes
• Relevant supervisory and managerial experience
• Eligibility restricted to employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Grade VII (0582) consolidated pay scales
• Contract: Permanent, whole-time
