Our Lady’s Hospital Navan is seeking a Registrar in Emergency Medicine to join its dynamic Emergency Department team in County Meath. This fixed term wholetime position offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within the HSE Dublin and North East region. The Registrar Emergency Medicine Navan role provides exposure to a broad range of acute presentations in a busy regional hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Assess, diagnose and manage acute medical and surgical cases
• Work collaboratively with Consultants, NCHDs, nursing staff and allied health professionals
• Participate in on-call and shift rotas as required
• Supervise and support junior medical staff where appropriate
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement and continuing professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered (or eligible for registration) with the Irish Medical Council
• Relevant experience in Emergency Medicine at Registrar level
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is in line with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Registrar (Grade 1538). As per the Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 August 2025, Registrar salary ranges from €68,891 to €81,126 depending on point placement .
