University Hospital Kerry is seeking a dedicated Registrar Paediatrics Kerry for a July 2026 intake. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Non-Consultant Hospital Doctor to join a dynamic paediatric team within HSE South West.
The successful candidate will gain valuable acute paediatric experience in a supportive teaching hospital environment, contributing directly to high-quality patient care in County Kerry.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive paediatric medical care to inpatients and outpatients
• Participate in the acute paediatric on-call rota
• Assess, diagnose and manage paediatric presentations in collaboration with consultants
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and discharge summaries
• Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Supervise and support junior medical staff where appropriate
• Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and teaching activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• Previous experience in paediatrics at SHO or equivalent level
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to patient safety and clinical governance
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: HSE Registrar Grade (Grade Code 1538) under the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)
Current salary scale:
€68,891 – €81,126 per annum (incremental scale)
Working Hours: Wholetime (in line with HSE NCHD contract and European Working Time Directive)
