Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise is seeking an experienced Senior Dietitian to join its Diabetes service. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy acute setting, supporting adults living with diabetes and contributing to high-quality multidisciplinary care. The role is offered on a specified purpose, wholetime contract within the Health Service Executive.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver specialist dietetic assessment, intervention, and education for patients with diabetes
• Lead diabetes-focused nutritional management plans in collaboration with MDT teams
• Provide individual and group education programmes for patients and families
• Support service development, quality initiatives, and evidence-based practice
• Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in audit and research
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff and students as required
• Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and referral pathways
Required Skills & Qualifications
• CORU registration as a Dietitian
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (preferably including diabetes care)
• Proven ability to work autonomously within a clinical setting
• Strong communication, education, and patient-engagement skills
• Experience contributing to MDT care and clinical service improvement
• Commitment to continuous professional development

• Salary in line with HSE Senior Dietitian (HSCP) national pay scales
