The Senior House Officer Orthopaedics Tullamore role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable surgical experience at Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore. This fixed-term wholetime post forms part of the HSE Dublin and Midlands region and supports high-quality orthopaedic care delivery.
This position is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and is ideal for doctors seeking immediate clinical exposure in a busy orthopaedic department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care to orthopaedic patients under consultant supervision
- Assist in elective and emergency orthopaedic procedures
- Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and theatre sessions
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients in line with hospital protocols
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in on-call rotas as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Full registration with the Irish Medical Council
- Relevant clinical experience in surgery or orthopaedics
- Eligibility to work in Ireland

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is in accordance with the HSE Consolidated Salary Scales for Senior House Officers (Grade Code 1012), effective 1 August 2025, ranging from €54,203 to €74,133 per annum depending on point placement :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}.
