Children’s Health Ireland is seeking a highly skilled Senior Nephrology Dietitian to join its specialist pediatric team in Dublin South. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to play a critical role in delivering expert nutritional care to children with complex renal conditions within a leading national healthcare organization.
Job Overview
This Senior Nephrology Dietitian role offers an opportunity to work at an advanced clinical level within a multidisciplinary paediatric nephrology service. You will lead dietetic interventions that directly impact patient outcomes, supporting children and families through complex treatment pathways while contributing to service development and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist dietetic assessment and treatment for paediatric nephrology patients
- Develop and implement individualised nutrition care plans for complex renal conditions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals
- Support and educate patients, families, and carers on nutritional management
- Lead and contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Supervise and mentor junior dietitians and student placements
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards
- Participate in research and evidence-based practice within paediatric nephrology nutrition
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Dietetics with CORU registration
- Significant post-qualification experience, including specialist nephrology experience
- Proven ability to work at senior clinical level within a healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of paediatric dietetics and renal nutrition management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and organisational abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
