Children’s Health Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Nephrology Dietitian to join its specialist healthcare team in Dublin South. Job Overview
The Senior Nephrology Dietitian will provide specialist dietetic services to children with renal conditions, supporting both inpatient and outpatient care. The role involves clinical leadership, service development, and delivering evidence-based nutritional interventions tailored to complex paediatric needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist nephrology dietetic assessments and interventions for paediatric patients
- Develop and implement individualised nutrition care plans in line with best practice
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and carers
- Contribute to service planning, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
- Supervise and support junior dietitians and students where required
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with professional standards
- Participate in ongoing professional development and research activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Dietetics with CORU registration
- Significant post-qualification experience, including nephrology or paediatric dietetics
- Strong clinical knowledge in renal nutrition and paediatric care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proven ability in clinical leadership, service development, or supervision
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development
