University Hospital Limerick is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join HSE Mid West Acute Services. This specified purpose whole-time position offers an excellent opportunity to lead, support, and enhance occupational therapy services within a dynamic acute healthcare environment.

Three vacancies are currently available, and a panel may be formed for future permanent or specified purpose roles across HSE Mid West services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced occupational therapy assessment and intervention within acute services.
  • Lead and supervise junior occupational therapy staff and students.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support discharge planning and community integration processes.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
  • Participate in audit, research, and ongoing professional development activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy recognised by CORU.
  • Registration with CORU as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Significant post-qualification clinical experience, including experience in acute settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
