University Hospital Limerick is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join HSE Mid West Acute Services. This specified purpose whole-time position offers an excellent opportunity to lead, support, and enhance occupational therapy services within a dynamic acute healthcare environment.
Three vacancies are currently available, and a panel may be formed for future permanent or specified purpose roles across HSE Mid West services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced occupational therapy assessment and intervention within acute services.
- Lead and supervise junior occupational therapy staff and students.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Support discharge planning and community integration processes.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
- Participate in audit, research, and ongoing professional development activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Qualification in Occupational Therapy recognised by CORU.
- Registration with CORU as an Occupational Therapist.
- Significant post-qualification clinical experience, including experience in acute settings.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
