Job Overview

The Senior Physicist Limerick role at University Hospital Limerick offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to advanced medical physics services within a leading acute hospital. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical physics support across designated hospital services.
  • Lead and oversee quality assurance programmes and safety standards.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of medical equipment and technologies.
  • Contribute to service planning, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior physics staff and trainees.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to enhance patient care.
  • Participate in research, development, and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Recognised postgraduate qualification in Medical Physics or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for registration as a Physicist – Senior (Grade Code 3808) within the HSE framework.
  • Significant relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
