Job Overview
The Senior Physiotherapist Postnatal Hub role at University Hospital Waterford offers an excellent opportunity to lead and deliver specialist physiotherapy services within a dedicated postnatal setting. This permanent wholetime position forms part of HSE Dublin and South East and is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will provide advanced clinical expertise, support service development, and contribute to high-quality, patient-centred postnatal care in a dynamic hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced physiotherapy assessment and treatment to postnatal patients.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment programmes.
- Lead and support service development initiatives within the Postnatal Hub.
- Supervise and mentor junior physiotherapy staff and students.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
- Participate in audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities.
- Promote best practice in women’s health physiotherapy.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and CORU registration.
- Significant post-qualification clinical experience, including women’s health or postnatal physiotherapy.
- Demonstrated experience at Senior Physiotherapist level or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.

- Salary aligned with HSE Senior Physiotherapist Grade 3158 pay scale (February 2026 consolidated salary scales).
