About the Role
The Senior Radiographer position at Wexford General Hospital offers a leadership opportunity within the diagnostic imaging department. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality radiographic services while supporting and mentoring junior staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex diagnostic imaging procedures across all modalities
- Supervise and mentor junior radiographers and students
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols and quality assurance standards
- Participate in department planning and service development initiatives
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Support the continuous improvement of radiography services
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Professional qualification in Diagnostic Radiography recognized by CORU
- Current registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in diagnostic radiography
- Demonstrated clinical competence across general radiography modalities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory or senior radiographer role
- Additional qualifications or training in specialized imaging modalities
- Knowledge of PACS and RIS systems
- Commitment to continuing professional development
