Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is a leading provider of support services for people with intellectual disabilities across Ireland. We are currently seeking dedicated Social Care Workers to join our team in the Intellectual Disability Services division in Roscommon Town Area. Multiple permanent, full-time and part-time positions are available.
About the Role
This Social Care Worker position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities in our Roscommon services. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing person-centered support and care within our specialized intellectual disability services framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in residential and community settings
- Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Assist service users with daily living activities, promoting independence and personal development
- Support individuals in accessing community resources and maintaining social connections
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with service standards
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development activities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- QQI Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related field
- Minimum 1-2 years experience working with people with intellectual disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Valid driver’s license and access to own transport
- Commitment to person-centered care and rights-based approaches
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Brothers of Charity services or similar organization
- Additional training in intellectual disability care approaches
- Experience with care planning and documentation systems
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in disability services
