The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is seeking a permanent part-time Social Care Worker to join our dedicated Adult Services team in Shannon, Co. Clare. This is an exciting opportunity for compassionate professionals to contribute to high-quality, person-centred care within a values-driven, inclusive organisation.

About the Role

As a Social Care Worker (Grade 3029), you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve greater independence, wellbeing, and inclusion in their community. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team under the HSE Mid-West region framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred care and daily living supports.
  • Promote social inclusion and community participation.
  • Support individuals in developing independent living skills.
  • Maintain records and care plans in line with HIQA standards.
  • Contribute to safeguarding, advocacy, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 7/8 qualification in Social Care or equivalent (CORU-approved).
  • Experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities or autism.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to person-centred and rights-based practice.

Preferred

  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Familiarity with HIQA regulations and positive behavioural support approaches.

  • HSE-aligned salary: Social Care Worker (Grade Code 3029), effective 1 August 2025, €38,474–€54,716 per annum (pro rata).
