HSE Dublin and North East is seeking a highly qualified Specialist in Orthodontics to join our Primary Care dental services team covering Dublin North, Louth, and Meath regions. About the Role
The HSE Dublin and North East region is recruiting a Specialist in Orthodontics to provide comprehensive orthodontic assessment, treatment planning, and clinical care to patients across Dublin North, Louth, and Meath. As part of our Primary Care dental services, you’ll play a vital role in improving oral health outcomes and delivering high-quality specialist care to diverse communities throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist orthodontic assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients referred through HSE Primary Care dental services
- Deliver evidence-based orthodontic treatment including fixed and removable appliance therapy across multiple clinic locations
- Collaborate with general dental practitioners and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care pathways
- Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards
- Participate in service planning, audit activities, and quality improvement initiatives within the orthodontic service
- Travel between designated clinic locations across Dublin North, Louth, and Meath to deliver services to communities throughout the region
- Contribute to the development and delivery of oral health promotion initiatives and community outreach programs
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Primary dental qualification recognized by the Dental Council of Ireland for registration purposes
- Specialist registration in Orthodontics on the Specialist Division of the Register maintained by the Dental Council of Ireland (or eligibility for such registration)
- Postgraduate qualification in Orthodontics recognized by the Dental Council of Ireland
- Minimum 3 years specialist orthodontic experience in a clinical setting
- Current registration with the Dental Council of Ireland (or eligibility to register)
- Access to appropriate transport to travel between clinic locations across the region as required to fulfill role requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within public health or community dental services
- Familiarity with HSE clinical governance frameworks and quality assurance processes
- Additional postgraduate qualifications or training in specialized orthodontic techniques
- Experience in service development, clinical audit, or quality improvement projects
