The Staff Grade Pharmacist role at St. Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny offers an excellent opportunity to join a progressive acute hospital pharmacy team within HSE Dublin and South East. This permanent whole-time position plays a key role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred pharmaceutical care.

As a Staff Grade Pharmacist, you will contribute to clinical pharmacy services, medication safety initiatives, and multidisciplinary collaboration across hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatient and outpatient areas.
  • Review prescriptions to ensure safe and effective medication use.
  • Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Deliver medicines information and advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Support medication safety, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and support staff where required.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
  • Eligible to work in Ireland.
  • Hospital pharmacy experience desirable.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and patient-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Access to appropriate transport as the role may involve travel.
