St Luke’s General Hospital, part of HSE Dublin and South East, is seeking a dedicated Staff Midwife to join our maternity services team in Kilkenny. This permanent wholetime or specified purpose wholetime position offers the opportunity to provide person-centred care across multiple maternity settings.
About the Role
The Staff Midwife will deliver holistic, evidence-based midwifery care to women, babies and their families across ante-natal, intrapartum and post-natal settings. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards, promoting optimum independence and enhancing quality of life for service users.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective midwifery care across ante-natal, intrapartum and post-natal settings
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic care using the midwifery care model
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services
- Promote person-centred care that enhances independence and quality of life
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in all aspects of midwifery practice
- Rotate through various maternity settings including the Integrated Community Midwifery Service
- Support women, babies and families throughout the maternity journey
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as a Registered Midwife
- Eligible to work in Ireland
- Commitment to providing person-centred, evidence-based care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in maternity services
- Experience working in different maternity care settings
- Additional midwifery qualifications or specialist training
- Knowledge of current best practice in midwifery care
