University Hospital Kerry is recruiting Staff Midwives (Grade 2143) to join its maternity services as part of HSE South West. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified midwives to work in a supportive acute hospital environment delivering high-quality, woman-centred maternity care across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal services.
This competition is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, evidence-based midwifery care in line with professional standards
• Provide holistic care to women, babies, and families throughout the maternity pathway
• Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary maternity team
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
• Promote health education and informed choice for service users
• Adhere to HSE policies, clinical guidelines, and patient safety standards
• Participate in ongoing professional development and clinical audits
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a Midwife on the Midwives Division of the NMBI Register
• Eligibility to work in Ireland at time of appointment
• Demonstrated clinical competence and commitment to woman-centred care
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
• Willingness to work rostered shifts as required

• Salary: In line with the HSE Staff Midwife (Grade 2143) consolidated salary scale, effective 1 August 2025
