Job Overview
As a Staff Midwife (Grade Code 2143), you will deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based midwifery care across a range of maternity services. This campaign is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and includes Permanent (Part-time and Wholetime) and Specified Purpose (Part-time and Wholetime) contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal midwifery care.
- Support women and families through pregnancy, labour, and the postnatal period.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary maternity teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
- Adhere to HSE policies, national clinical guidelines, and professional standards.
- Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrated competence in maternity care settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to high standards of patient-centred care.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
