Mayo University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join the Emergency and Acute Floor, incorporating the Emergency Department (ED), Escalation Unit, and Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU). This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced acute hospital environment delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in an acute hospital setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in line with best practice
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across ED, Escalation, and AMAU
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to HSE policies and procedures
• Promote patient dignity, privacy, and safety at all times
• Participate in ongoing service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the General Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by NMBI
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of recent post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting within the last 24 months (at campaign closing date)
• Strong clinical decision-making and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Desirable:
• Paediatric nursing experience
