Job Overview
Sligo University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join its busy Emergency Department. This permanent, full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced acute care environment, delivering high-quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in line with best clinical practice
- Work collaboratively with medical and multidisciplinary teams
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and prioritise patient needs
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards
- Support patient safety initiatives and quality improvement programmes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Previous experience in an acute hospital setting, ideally in Emergency Department nursing
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary scale: €37,788 – €56,032 (based on experience, in line with HSE pay scales)
