Job Overview

Tipperary University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Nurse Theatre Tipperary professional to join its acute surgical team on a permanent whole-time basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic theatre environment, delivering high-quality patient care across a range of surgical specialties.

As part of the Health Service Executive (HSE) Dublin and South East region, you will contribute to safe, effective, and patient-centred perioperative services within a modern acute hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of perioperative nursing care in accordance with professional guidelines and hospital policies.
  • Assist in preparing operating theatres, ensuring all equipment and instrumentation are sterile and ready for use.
  • Support surgeons and multidisciplinary teams during surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patients’ clinical condition before, during, and after surgery.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols at all times.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and mandatory training.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the theatre department.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with active registration on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) register.
  • Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Theatre Nursing in Acute Hospital Care relevant to the role.
  • Strong clinical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and professional standards.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
