An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse (General) to join the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Sligo University Hospital. This permanent whole-time post offers the chance to work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary cardiac team delivering specialist, high-acuity care.
This role is ideal for a motivated nurse seeking to develop advanced clinical skills in a fast-paced acute cardiac setting within the HSE West and North West region.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to CCU patients
• Monitor and assess patients with acute and complex cardiac conditions
• Administer medications and cardiac interventions safely and accurately
• Work collaboratively with cardiology consultants and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Promote patient education, safety, and dignity at all times
• Participate in quality improvement, audits, and ongoing professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration as a General Nurse with NMBI (active or eligible)
• Experience or interest in acute cardiology or coronary care nursing
• Strong clinical decision-making and assessment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to continuing professional development
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
