The National Transport Authority is seeking a Transport Regulation Executive Officer to join its Transport Regulation Directorate in Dublin. Job Overview
The Transport Regulation Executive Officer Dublin role involves managing licensing processes, handling casework, supporting service delivery contracts, and contributing to regulatory communications. You will play a key role in ensuring high-quality customer service, maintaining operational systems, and supporting policy implementation within the National Transport Authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess licence applications and complaints, including investigation and case resolution
- Prepare and issue professional written responses to stakeholders within defined timelines
- Develop, maintain, and improve regulatory processes and supporting documentation
- Produce weekly and monthly reports, including statistical and performance analysis
- Support ICT system maintenance, user acceptance testing, and implementation of system updates
- Monitor service provider performance, including KPIs, quality assurance, and escalation handling
- Prepare communications including industry updates, newsletters, and consultation materials
- Support responses to Parliamentary Questions, FOI, and Data Protection requests
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum NFQ Level 4 qualification
- At least 2 years’ experience in customer service, case handling, or regulatory environments
- Experience in process documentation, reporting, and service delivery oversight
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
Desirable Criteria
- NFQ Level 7 qualification in IT, business, law, economics, or a related field
- Experience in regulatory, licensing, or compliance functions
- Knowledge of Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation
- Experience in system monitoring, issue identification, and user acceptance testing
- Understanding of public sector procurement practices
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation in operational processes
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
The starting salary for this Executive Officer position is €38,419, with a structured salary scale up to €62,601 depending on progression and applicable terms. Annual leave entitlement is 23 days per annum, excluding public holidays. The role is offered on a permanent contract basis with a 6-month probation period (extendable to 10 months).
The position operates on a blended working model based in Haymarket House, Smithfield, Dublin 7, with flexibility to support work-life balance. Travel may be required as part of the role.
