Job Overview

The Mater Hospital Dublin is recruiting a dedicated Grade III Clerical Officer to provide comprehensive administrative support within our busy Radiology Directorate. Key Responsibilities

Administrative Excellence

  • Provide comprehensive office support and maintain reception/telephone services for the Radiology Directorate
  • Manage patient administration systems, including appointment scheduling and medical records maintenance
  • Process radiology referrals and ensure timely communication between departments
  • Maintain accurate filing systems for both computerised and paper-based records

Data Management & Compliance

  • Input, validate and process patient data within radiology information systems
  • Assist in preparing departmental reports and maintaining quality assurance records
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA Standards for Healthcare and HSE protocols
  • Support implementation of Health Information and Quality Authority guidelines

Patient Services & Communication

  • Provide front-line support to patients attending radiology appointments
  • Handle telephone enquiries and direct patients appropriately within the hospital
  • Liaise with medical staff, radiographers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Assist with patient flow management during busy clinic periods

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification (QQI Level 5 minimum)
  • Minimum 1 year clerical or administrative experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare management systems
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience working in Irish healthcare environment (HSE or voluntary hospitals)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures
  • ECDL certification or equivalent IT qualifications
  • Experience with patient administration systems
