Grade VII ICT Service & Support Manager – Technology & Transformation – Cork | HSE

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is Ireland’s national health service, providing comprehensive healthcare services across the country. We are seeking an experienced Grade VII ICT Service & Support Manager to join our Technology & Transformation team in Cork, on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Role

This senior ICT management position involves leading service and support operations within the HSE’s Technology & Transformation department. You will be responsible for managing complex helpdesk and service desk environments while driving technological innovation across Ireland’s healthcare system. The role reports to senior management within the Technology & Transformation division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage helpdesk and service desk teams in complex healthcare technology environments
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies for ICT service delivery across HSE operations
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to enhance technology support services
  • Structure and organize technical support teams effectively within demanding healthcare settings
  • Drive re-engineering initiatives to optimize technology service processes and workflows
  • Ensure compliance with HSE technology standards and healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Manage escalation procedures and coordinate resolution of critical technology incidents

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Degree level education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Minimum 5+ years management experience in helpdesk, service desk, or ICT support environments
  • Proven track record of managing and organizing technical teams in complex organizational settings
  • Extensive experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing, and re-engineering technology processes
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL frameworks and IT service management best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare technology experience and understanding of medical ICT systems
  • Advanced qualifications in IT management, project management, or related fields
  • Experience with digital transformation initiatives in large organizations
  • Knowledge of HSE systems and Irish healthcare technology landscape
