Spicy Affair, a vibrant and popular dining destination in Westport, County Mayo, is seeking a skilled Grill Chef to join our kitchen team. This position focuses on our burger and kebab section, preparing and presenting high-quality grilled dishes that showcase flavour, precision, and consistency. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, season, and cook burgers, kebabs, skewers, and related grilled dishes to specification.
- Operate and maintain grills, fryers, and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure portion control, presentation, and cooking temperatures meet HACCP and company standards.
- Monitor and manage stock in the grill section; assist with ordering and rotation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other chefs to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Check and properly store meat, poultry, and perishable items.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene procedures.
- Minimise food waste and support cost-efficiency in the kitchen.
- Support the training and supervision of junior kitchen staff.

- Expertise in grilling methods (charcoal, gas, flat-top).

Role Overview
This is a Chef de Partie–level position, reporting to the Head Chef or Sous Chef. The Grill Chef manages their section, ensuring speed, quality, and coordination with the broader kitchen brigade to deliver exceptional grilled cuisine.
