Job Overview
As a Health Care Assistant with Orchard Care Group, you will provide direct support and daily care to individuals within residential services. The role includes assisting with personal care, daily routines, social activities, and household tasks while promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing for the people supported.
This position operates on a rolling roster basis and may include waking night shifts, sleep-ins, weekends, and Bank Holiday work as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and daily support to children and adults in residential services
- Assist with personal care and activities in line with individual care plans
- Support social interaction and community engagement activities
- Promote independence, dignity, and individual choice for service users
- Participate in team meetings, staff communication, and care planning processes
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding standards at all times
- Assist with household duties and administration tasks within the residential setting
- Ensure safe use and handling of equipment and care resources
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience supporting adults or children with disabilities
- Knowledge of supporting individuals with complex needs
- Full manual driving licence valid for use in Ireland
- Eligibility to live and work in Ireland without restrictions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work shifts including nights and weekends
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary for this Health Care Assistant role ranges from €39,290 to €44,293 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
