About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant at Nenagh Community Nursing Unit, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing team in providing comprehensive healthcare services. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene
- Support nursing staff in delivering safe, effective patient care in accordance with care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and records as required by HSE standards
- Assist with mobility and therapeutic activities under supervision of qualified nursing staff
- Ensure infection prevention and control measures are followed at all times
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Support patients’ emotional and social wellbeing through compassionate care delivery
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- QQI Level 5 certification in Healthcare Support or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in healthcare or care environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Physical fitness to assist with patient mobility and care activities
- Commitment to maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in long-term care or community nursing settings
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in healthcare environments
- Additional training in areas such as first aid or manual handling
