Brothers of Charity Services Ireland is seeking a Health & Social Care Assistant (Therapy Assistant) to join our Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) 1 North Kerry, based in Listowel with outreach to Castleisland. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity (39 hours per week) where you will play a vital role in supporting children and families with developmental needs.
About the Role
As part of our dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will support therapy interventions, assist in programme delivery, and help empower children with disabilities to reach their full potential. Working closely with families, you will provide hands-on care, encouragement, and practical support in both community and outreach settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist therapy staff in delivering individual and group interventions.
- Support children in developing independence, communication, and social skills.
- Provide direct care and support in line with individualised care plans.
- Engage with families to ensure consistent support between home and service.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.
- Promote dignity, respect, and inclusion in every aspect of care.
- Undertake outreach work across Listowel and Castleisland as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a healthcare, social care, or childcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to travel between Listowel and Castleisland.
Preferred
- A relevant qualification in Health & Social Care, Social Studies, or related discipline.
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of disability services and person-centred care approaches.
