Job Overview
As a Healthcare Assistant in our community team, you’ll provide personal and social care in clients’ homes across Donegal. You’ll follow individual care plans, promote independence, and keep accurate records so each person receives consistent, high-quality support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care and assist with daily living (hygiene, dressing, meal prep).
- Provide companionship and practical support in the home.
- Monitor and report changes in wellbeing to the office/clinical team.
- Support safe mobility and use of aids as per care plans.
- Prompt medications in line with company policy (where applicable).
- Document visits clearly using company processes.
- Uphold safeguarding, dignity, and infection-prevention standards.
Qualifications
Essential
- QQI Level 5 modules in Care of the Older Person and Care Skills OR minimum 1 year’s experience in a care setting with commitment to completing QQI modules.
- Full, clean driving licence and access to own transport.
- Reliable, compassionate, and professional communicator.
Preferred
- Full QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support (all modules).
- Experience in home/community care (e.g., dementia, palliative).
- Familiarity with electronic care records.

- Competitive hourly rates: up to €15.00/hr Mon–Sat, €16.00/hr Sundays, €30.00/hr Bank Holidays.
