Role Overview
The HSE South West is recruiting a Home Support Resource Officer within Older Persons Services, based across Kerry and Cork. The Home Support Resource Officer plays a key coordinating role in the delivery of the Home Support Service, supporting older people to remain living independently in their own homes and communities. A panel may be formed from this campaign to fill current and future permanent and specified-purpose vacancies of full- or part-time duration.
Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and manage the allocation of home support hours to service users in line with assessed need and available resources.
- Liaise with home support providers, care staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Monitor service delivery, maintain accurate records, and support budget and resource management within the service area.
- Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, and compliance with HSE policies and relevant standards.
- Support the assessment, review, and reallocation of care packages as service users’ needs change.
Requirements
Eligibility criteria are drafted from grade context and must be confirmed against the official Job Specification and Applicant Information Document.
- Relevant administrative, health, or social care experience appropriate to the coordination of home support services.
- Strong organisational, communication, and resource-management skills.
- Knowledge of Older Persons Services and the HSE Home Support Service is an advantage.
- Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set out in the Job Specification as at the closing date.
Salary
Home Support Resource Officer (Grade Code 6484), HSE salary scale effective 1 June 2026: €52,758, €54,336, €55,945, €57,591, €59,245, €61,174, rising to a Long Service Increment (LSI) of €63,110. Placement on the scale is determined in line with HSE pay policy. Part-time posts are paid pro rata.

HSE South West — Counties Kerry and Cork. A number of vacancies are available across the region.
Contract Type
