About the Role

As a Housekeeping Attendant (Domestic, Grade 4110), you’ll provide a high-quality hygiene service aligned with HSE Infection Control Policies, ensuring a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver daily cleaning and housekeeping duties in line with hospital hygiene standards.
  • Maintain infection control and cross-contamination prevention measures.
  • Handle cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to maintain a safe care environment.
  • Promote and uphold health and safety practices within the hospital.
  • Report any hygiene or maintenance concerns promptly to the Housekeeping Services Manager.
  • Support continuous quality improvement within the domestic services department.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping, ideally in a healthcare or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required.

Preferred

  • QQI Level 3 or higher qualification in Healthcare Support, Cleaning, or Facilities Management.
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
