About the Role
As a Housekeeping Attendant (Domestic, Grade 4110), you’ll provide a high-quality hygiene service aligned with HSE Infection Control Policies, ensuring a clean, safe, and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver daily cleaning and housekeeping duties in line with hospital hygiene standards.
- Maintain infection control and cross-contamination prevention measures.
- Handle cleaning equipment and materials safely and effectively.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to maintain a safe care environment.
- Promote and uphold health and safety practices within the hospital.
- Report any hygiene or maintenance concerns promptly to the Housekeeping Services Manager.
- Support continuous quality improvement within the domestic services department.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping, ideally in a healthcare or similar environment.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
Preferred
- QQI Level 3 or higher qualification in Healthcare Support, Cleaning, or Facilities Management.
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
