Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, operating under the HSE West and North West region, is seeking a permanent part-time In-Home Support Practitioner to join the TURAS Family & Community Services team in Galway City and County. This position offers an opportunity to deliver high-quality, person-centred social care to individuals and families within their community.
About the Role
As an In-Home Support Practitioner (Social Care Leader, Grade Code 3030), you will play a vital role in providing support to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism, assisting them to achieve greater independence and inclusion within their home and community environments. The role involves leadership, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and direct engagement with service users and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred care and implement individualised support plans.
- Promote independence, dignity, and participation in community life.
- Lead, guide, and support care teams to ensure quality standards are met.
- Liaise with families, advocates, and professionals to coordinate services.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and compliance with HSE standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development and supervision.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and health & safety standards.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- A recognised qualification in Social Care or related discipline (NFQ Level 7 or higher).
- Minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism.
- Proven leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Experience within community-based or in-home support settings.
- Familiarity with HSE quality frameworks and New Directions policy.
- A valid full driving licence and access to own transport.

- Social Care Leader (Grade 3030) salary scale (effective 1 August 2025):
- €54,000–€64,000 per annum pro rata, per Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales.
